Accessibility
The Company is subject to the provisions of the Accessible Canada Act (the “ACA”), which aims to make Canada barrier-free by January 1, 2040. This involves identifying, removing, and preventing barriers in several priority areas for people with disabilities. The Company is fully committed to complying with its obligations under the ACA.
Pursuant to the Company’s obligations under the ACA, the Company seeks feedback from the public who engages with the Company’s business regarding any barriers in the following areas as it relates to the Company’s business:
- Employment (this relates to all employment aspects of the business, such as recruitment and hiring)
- Built environment (this relates to the physical work environment and buildings)
- Information and communication technology (this relates to any interactions that occur electronically or through the use of technology, such as through our website or email)
- Communication, other than information and communication technology (this relates to any other method of communication, such as written documents or signage in our buildings)
- Procuring goods, services, and facilities (this relates to any procurement activities our business engages in)
- Designing and delivering programs and services (this relates to any programs or services provided by our business, being mainly transportation of vehicles to ensure that those are accessible)
- Transportation (this relates to transportation services to employees and customers, which our business does not provide)
Note that the above is the full list of areas in which the Company must solicit feedback, but not all of them are necessarily going to apply to members of the public. The area of ‘procuring goods, services, and facilities’ would not likely apply to general members of the public who are not engaged in the procurement process. The area of ‘employment’ could apply to applicants for employment who may have experienced any barriers in the recruitment process. The area of ‘transportation’ would likely have limited to no application to the general public because we do not provide transportation services to the public.
With respect to any of the above areas that may apply to you, the Company is soliciting feedback with respect to the following questions as it relates to any existing barriers in the above areas:
- What types of barriers have you faced when dealing with our organization?
- Do you have ideas about how we could remove and prevent those barriers?
- Which of those barriers do you think we should address first?
- Do you think our feedback process meets your accessibility needs?
If you have any feedback, please submit that feedback via email at accessibility@mclmcgill.com or contact us at +1-604-526-6560. You can provide feedback anonymously and any information you share with us will remain confidential.
